Coquet Vets Veterinary Nurses
12th May 2023 | Author Coquet Vets
The month of May is Vet Nurse Awareness Month. This month is dedicated to highlighting the important role that nurses play in practice.
Meet Rosie - Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Rosie started her career working with animals by completing an animal assistant care course. This led her to train and qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016.
Rosie’s experience has included a role within the emergency team, as well as referral nursing, but she has decided her love and passion lies within the primary care work where she loves to be involved in the education of her clients, running nursing clinics and all other aspects that nursing entails.
Rosie decided to join Coquet Vets to follow her passion in small animal nursing whilst working for a smaller independent team. At weekends Rosie spends time walking her cocker spaniel, Winston, as well as looking after her cats, Theresa and Major, and rabbit, Gordon.
Meet Sue - Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Sue qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2018. Sue did her studies at Durham College and worked in a busy small animal practice in Darlington.
Sue previously worked as a hairdresser for over thirty years, but she has always had a passion and love for animals. Sue has three dogs of her own and last year she had another addition to the family as Sue’s daughter got a cocker spaniel puppy named Poppy.
When Sue is not at work, she loves walking on the beach, and paddle boarding or kayaking on the lake. Sue and her husband have recently been approved as foster carers, so they are excited for the new challenges ahead, especially as family means everything to them!
Meet Laura - Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Laura joined us in April from a primary care practice in Newcastle. Laura qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in April 2019. Laura has worked in emergency veterinary care and referral work before choosing primary care.
Her keen interests in veterinary are anaesthetics, nurse clinics and radiography.
Laura has always loved caring for animals, having previously volunteered in several practices and an animal sanctuary. She also worked in day care for dogs. She has a sassy black cat called Bane. In her spare time, Laura loves being outside in nature, enjoying hiking and nature photography.
