This is little Lilly who is a female neutered Yorkshire terrier. Lilly's owner called to say she hasn't stopped sneezing since she left the beach and was quite distressed. We advised the owner to come straight down to see one of our vets, Emily.

Lilly was constantly sneezing in the consult room and twisting her nose to the left-hand side. Nothing could be seen externally, but after looking up the nose with a small auroscope (usually used for examining down ears ear), Emily could see the tip of a grass blade.

Often, in these cases the dog would have to be sedated, but as Lilly was so brave and patient, Emily managed to get the grass blade out using a piece of equipment called crocodile forceps.

We are pleased to say the whole blade came out and Lilly recovered fully.
