Case Study: Mog’s Face Lump Removal
13th January 2023 | Author Coquet Vets
Mog is a four year old cat who presented with a golf ball size lump on the side of her cheek. Our Vet, Rachel, checked over Mog and sent a sample to our external lab. The results showed a ruptured cyst, and the swelling was due to the inflammation. Our Vet advised the mass to be removed.
Mog came in on the 28th of November and our Vet, Emily, surgically removed the mass while Mog was under general anaesthetic.
The mass was 1 cm below Mog's left lower eye lid. The mass extended to 1 cm above her lower lip, and it covered the whole side of her left cheek. In the images below, you can see the lump during and after surgery. [Warning: Viewer discretion is advised].
After a week's rest and wearing a buster collar to stop Mog scratching her face. The wound is all healed and she is back to life on the farm.
