Casper is a lovely little kitten that came to us for neutering. After admission, it was found that Casper had just one fully descended testicle. When a kitten is born, their testicles start up near their kidneys and as they grown the migrate down towards the scrotum. Occasionally, they get lost along the way! This is known as cryptorchidism.
This was the case for Casper. Our vet, Becca, had to take Casper to theatre where we found his missing testicle in his abdomen. It was safely removed, and Casper is doing well in recovery.
It is very important that we remove retained testicles in dogs and cats as over time they can become cancerous. If this case study has raised any concerns, please call us on 01665 252 250.
